Round-Up: 15 Must Watch OTT Releases Of 2025

Can you believe that 2025 is over? Because, honestly, we cannot. It’s almost as if the year went by in the blink of an eye. But the good part is, unlike previous years, it was a happy one for the box office, with people returning to theatres to watch the massive hit films like Chhaava, Saiyaara, Kantara:Chapter One and lastly Dhurandar. In fact, Dhurandhar released in the last month of the year, delivered the final punch as it accrued massive collections at box office.

Similarly, OTT also saw some of the most resonating as well as mind boggling releases. Mrs released early in 2025 became a household name, followed by the likes of Family Man Season 3, Dining With Kapoors etc. And just like films, the  best was saved for the last: Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2. Released in December 2025, it was an end of an era that began when the series was first released in 2016.

1. Mrs. | Zee5

Sanya Malhotra starrer Mrs. was loved by all for its accurate portray of expectations from an Indian housewife in a patriarchal setting. The best part is this film is a remake of the Malayali film, “The Great Indian Kitchen”, highlighting that this is not just a North Indian or South Indian issue, rather something that exists wherever patriarchal societies exists. Do watch, if you haven’t already.

2. Inspector Zende | Netflix

If you’ve watched the Netflix series on Charles Shobraj(The Serpent), chances are you will connect with Inspector Zende a bit more. The plot revolves around Inspector Zende, who once caught a french serial killer Carl Bhojraj (drawn from the criminal Charles Shobraj), getting the news of his escape from Tihar Jail. He and his team prepare to apprehend him, for a second time. A comedy-thriller series with  such an interesting theme and Manoj Bajpai as Inspector Zende is a good enough reason to watch it. Add to it, a wonderful supporting cast that make everything look completely natural, especially the comic scenes.

3. Tehran | Zee5 / Netflix

Tehran is a spy thriller that casts John Abraham in the main lead. And, if you’ve seen films Like Madras Cafe, you know spy thrillers with John Abraham is a damn good combination. Tehran is a story of an ACP, in the Delhi’s special cell. As he is investigating a Delhi bomb blast that killed a 12 year old girl he personally knew, he gets knee deep into investigation. His personal loss propels him to continue further, but he finds himself in an odd situation; where his department has left him on his own and the Iranian Intelligence is after his life.

Watch as he discovers the truth and avenge his losses against all odds. Interesting fact about this series is the plot of the film was just so promising that ZEE5 launched it on 14th August 2025 and within days Netflix also released it on its platform. 4. Khauf | Prime Video

If you think Indian horror genre is a joke, we dare you to watch Khauf once. It will change your views, that we can guarantee. In fact, it is one of the best horror films in the recent times. A young small town woman is assaulted by a group of men. In order to escape her reality, she moves to Delhi and shifts in room number 333 in a girls hostel. However, the solace she seeks is replaced by nightmares that she lives day-in and day-out. Watch it once, it is indeed one of the best horror Ott releases of 2025.

5. The Ba***ds Of Bollywood | Netflix

Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series was all in the news and for the right reasons. Aasman Singh is an ambitious young man who made it to Bollywood. The success of his debut film lands him an opportunity to work as a main lead in a Karan Johar film. However, the unpredictability, interferences from others make it extremely difficult for him to move smoothly in the glitzy, glamorous world of Bollywood. 6. Panchayat Season 4 | Prime Video 

By this point Panchayat needs no introduction, naam hi kaafi hai! We have loved all the seasons, so far. Simplicity of people of Phulera, rustic settings and the slow arch of Rinki and Sachiv ji’s love story despite the political chatter of the show have already stolen hearts in a million ways. 7. Black Warrant | Netflix

It is one of the most gripping crime thriller drama series. If you want to know why, here is the answer: it is based on a non-fiction book by a Tihar Jailer who worked there for more than 35 years. The series showcases stories of Tihar Jail from 1980s from perspective of the author. It is divided into further into seasons, with the first season covering events from early 1980s to 1984, having accounts of the infamous prisoners Charles Shobraj and Ranga-Billa.

8. Bakaiti | Zee 5

Amidst increasing expenses, the Kataria family decides to supplement their income by renting out a room. The almost grown up Kataria children are happy at the prospects of better finances but sharing the same room is a huge challenge due to their contrasting personas and needs. Changing environments at home, chatters in the neighbourhood and a hot and charming tenant put their patience and family dynamics at a fragile spot. 9. Dabba Cartel | Netflix

Have you ever wondered what happens when circumstances push ordinary people into crime? Well, Dabba Cartel happens. A group of women run a tiffin service business, but that’s just a guise to hide their drug related crimes. You must watch the series for its original storylines, and a strong cast that includes Shabana Azmi, Anjali Anand, Jyothika, Shalini Pandey, and Nimisha Sajayan. An incredible story of five women from different walks of life doing something unthinkable, is what makes this series  one of the best ott releases of 2025.

10. Dupahiya | Prime Video

If you’ve seen Panchayat, you have seen rural UP. Watch Dupahiya and you will get a glimpse of rural Bihar. The ingenuity of the makers is that  they have concocted a story around a Dupahiya or a two-wheeler. It is a quintessential item and yet a luxury  for the rural people. So, when a Dupahiya, and that too one from Royal Enfield is a dowry demanded for a village wedding, the whole village is curious. But, almost as soon as it arrives, it is stolen. All the threads of the show are connected to the Dupahiya.  Watch the show because Dupahiya delivers messages that resonate with the rural societies and society as general.

11. Bhog | Prime Video

Atin, is a young dynamic young man living happily in his world. All is well in his world until he visits his friend’s antique shop. He feels strangely drawn to a mysterious brass idol of a goddess. She held Veena in her upper left hand, Kharga in upper right hand, and a human skull in lower hand. Her lower right hand is folded in an Aashirwad Mudra. But, nobody is able to ascertain her identity.

Ever since he got the idol, Atin has dreams of the deity asking him to feed her and satisfy her hunger. People ask him to not indulge in worship, but Atin is totally drawn to her. Do watch the entire series to know the fates of the the devotee and the deity.

The series feels like it has been adapted from a folklore, but is based on a novel of the same name by Avik Sarkar. It has also been adapted into a feature film by Rajorshi Dey, Purab Pashchim Dakshin Uttar Asbei.

12. Real Kashmir Football Club | Sony Liv

In a country obsessed with cricket, a web-series on football is a rarity. Same goes for Real Kashmir Football Club. As the name reveals, it as a Hindi sports drama based on the story of first, “Real Kashmir Football Club.” A journalist and a businessman unite to form this club to give the youth of the war torn valley some direction and purpose in life. But, a thought is 1000 times easier to think than to implement. Especially, when the society is fragmented—socially, politically, and financially. Ott releases of 2025 were diverse, truly.

13. The Family Man Season 3 | Prime Video

The gripping thriller gets even more intense this season as Srikant Tiwari, has been framed on false charges. Without proof of his innocence, he cannot escape a jail sentence. An introvert cousin takes his grown up mischievous cousin as a Sarbala in his wedding. Little does he anticipate the events that follow. From dacoits that attempt to interfere the wedding procession to some harmless flirting that culminate into a rollercoaster of funny situations. 15. Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 2 | Netflix

If you’ve been watching Stranger Things from its inception in 2016, you would know that December 2025 marked the end of an era. As the most popular sci-fi series of all time wrapped up its final season. Volume 2 saw weekly release of the last four episodes of the series. The battle between Hawkins versus Vecna concluded.
