,2025 was the year of Hindi films after a long while. They performed exceptionally well in the theatres as well as on OTT. In fact, the roll out of blockbusters like Chhaava and Mrs. that started in February 2025 finally culminated with Dhurandhar in December 2025.
We have compiled all good ones here for two purposes. First, it is for you to see if you missed out on any good ones. And the second reason is for our record keeping. Because who wouldn’t want to watch a good movie again?
Here, have a look at our collection of the must watch Hindi movies of 2025:
1. Mrs.
If you check my articles you’ll find out I have included Mrs. in almost all the places. Because we feel it is one of the must watch Hindi movies of 2025. A film that feel more real than reality itself! But there’s one thing Sanya received a lot of love after this film and Kanwaljit Singh, who portrays her father- in-law, after watching the film apologised to her for portraying such a troubling character. Within days of its release, Mrs. became the most searched film on Google and broke record on ZEE5 for being the most watched film.
2. Saiyaara
Saiyaara was released in Mumbai in July last year. A love story between a young couple took the internet and social media, especially instagram by a storm. And those who went to watch it were inconsolable. It reminded the audience about the innocence of the first love. Both Ahaan Pandya and Aneet Padda were household names within days. In fact, the title track Saiyaara, became India’s first ever song that topped Spotify’s Global Viral 50 chart, surpassing Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars, Blackpink and Justin Beiber.
3. Chhaava
Chhaava, released in February 2025 theatrically became the first blockbuster film of 2025. Everyone loved the character of Sambhaji Maharaj played by Vicky Kaushal for his courage and leadership. In fact, Vicky Kaushal did such a great work that we could not tell one from the other. To stay in their character Vicky Kaushal and Akshay Khanna never spoke with each other on the set, even avoiding each other on the set. This is the first blockbuster of 2025 where Akshay Khanna portrayed the role of a villain this year. The other being Dhurandhar.
4. Homebound
Homebound is a story of friendship of Chandan and Shoaib. They want to make it big in life to get respect that they never had growing up. However, like everything in life their friendship gets tested by life. Will it survive the pressure or succumb to it? Watch impeccable acting by Ishaan Khatter as Shoib, and Vishal Jethwa as Chandan. The film received a nine minute standing ovation post its global screening at Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes film festival 2025.
Mahavatar Narsimha is an Indian animation film based on Indian Mythology. Prahalad’s devotion to Lord Vishnu irks Hirankashyapu to the extent that he wants his son dead. Watch the film for its storytelling, animation particularly in the second half, where it feels almost surreal. Despite any big stars even in terms of voice-cast, the film surpassed collections of The Lion King(2019). It went on to become the highest grossing animation film in India.
6. Dhurandar
Dhurandhar released in Decemeber 2025, made the year end collections at box office skyrocket. It became the highest blockbuster of 2025, beating Chhaava. The film felt real as it showcased the realities of spies working on enemy grounds. With a major star cast, impeccable storytelling and direction, and some raw footages that hit emotional chords of the people, the film is an experience that you emote. On the other hand, we are really wondering whether Akshay Khanna is a lucky charm or the villain whose time has come? You’ll be able to watch this film on OTT by end of January or early February 2025. We’ll notify you.
